Moores Creek National Battlefield in Currie closed Saturday morning, gridlocked by the federal government’s partial shutdown.

CURRIE, NC (WECT) - Moores Creek National Battlefield in Currie closed Saturday morning, gridlocked by the federal government’s partial shutdown.

Officials with the park posted on Facebook shortly after 8 a.m. announcing the closure.

The post reads, “Due to a lapse in funding of the federal government budget, Moores Creek National Battlefield will remain closed for resource protection and safety until the federal government reopens. During this time we at Moores Creek National Battlefield are not authorized to answer any questions or messages, but we will respond to your inquires as soon as we return to the office.”
