Deadline extended for comments on state’s proposed consent order with Chemours

RALEIGH, NC (WECT) - The public comment period deadline has been extended on the state’s proposed consent order concerning chemicals in our drinking water.

According to a news release from the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality, comments on the proposed consent order between DEQ, Cape Fear River Watch and the Chemours Company will be accepted until Jan. 7, 2019. Comments can be submitted to comments.chemours@ncdenr.gov or by mail to Assistant Secretary’s Office, Attn: Chemours Public Comments, 1601 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, N.C., 27699-1601.
