LELAND, NC (WECT) - The Carolina Panthers honored North Brunswick High School football coach Bryan Davis as one of nine Carolina Panthers High School Football Coaches of the Week on Monday night.

Davis received tickets and a parking pass to the New Orleans Saints-Panthers game in Charlotte. He was honored during halftime.

North Brunswick High School Assistant Principal Kimberly Brown nominated Davis for his efforts in the Brunswick County community after Hurricane Florence.

“It's very flattering to be recognized,” said Davis. “I'm a little embarrassed to get an award on the heels of others' adversity, but I'm proud of our Scorpion community and our fine young men”

The Panthers also gave Davis a personalized game ball and $1,000 grant to support the North Brunswick athletic department.

“The money given by the Panthers will go a long way toward the recovery and improvements that our program and young people need and deserve,” Davis said.
