WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Patrick Donley would like to give his fifth grade students a unique history lesson. He wants to take them to Williamsburg, Va.
Donley, a teacher at Cape Fear Center for Inquiry, says giving them a lesson on location from one of the most historical cities in the country would be amazing.
“It’s one thing to research online. It’s one thing to read books," Donley said. "To get to experience it in real life is something special for them.”
Donley normally holds fundraisers for student field trips but Hurricane Florence prevented that from happening this year. He’s hoping to get funding through Donors Choose, an online charity that helps teachers across the country get various projects funded.
