WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Hope you are enjoying you’re Monday! Times of drizzly weather will continue through the overnight hours which may mix with some snowflakes and/or sleet pellets. Expect a gradual drying trend through the overnight hours but keep in mind any puddles or wet roads may become slick early Tuesday morning as temperatures drop to near freezing. We’ve been busy crafting your extended forecast here in the First Alert Forecast Center so please check it out and pay special attention to these key points
- Cold and raw Monday night... Patchy light, drizzly rain will add another few hundredths or tenths of an inch of rain to our already soggy situation. Don’t be shocked if a few non-accumulating snowflakes or sleet pellets mix in, either. Bundle up for temperatures no higher than the 40s and wind chill values no higher than the 30s.
- Another dose of drenching rain looms... Showers will likely deliver another inch or more of rain to the Cape Fear Region Friday into Saturday. Thunderstorms featuring enhanced rainfall rates and gusty winds also appear possible with this setup. Exact details and timing will soon be honed but, for now, plan to stay alert in this period.
- Tailor your forecast... The planning forecast you see on your screen reflects values you’ll see for WECT Weather App’s Wilmington zone. Tap into your app from a far inland or beach zone to see more tailored numbers for you!
