CHAPEL HILL, NC (WECT) - Led by 35 points from Stephanie Watts, North Carolina's women's basketball team rolled to an 82-55 victory over UNCW on Wednesday afternoon.

The Tar Heels, who hosted a men’s and women’s hoops doubleheader against UNCW, raced out to a 30-13 lead in the first quarter and built a 55-23 lead by halftime.

Gigi Smith led the Seahawks (5-3) with 21 points and Shrita Parker added 14. UNCW hit only 27.5 percent (19-of-69) of its field goal attempts, including just 18.2 percent (4-of-22) from 3-point range.

Watts led four players in double-figure scoring for UNC (6-4), which made nearly 50 percent (29-of-59) of its field goal attempts and went 14-of-29 from beyond the arc. Shayla Bennett scored 16 points, Janelle Bailey had 13 and Taylor Koenen added 11. Bailey and Koenen each grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds.
