WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Do you want to make a difference in the lives of others?  I can make it simple for you.

All you have to do is jump in and volunteer for Hands on Wilmington.  The worst that can happen is you'll get your hands dirty or a little paint in your hair.

Four years ago something amazing started here in Wilmington.  On one day, hundreds of people came together with one common goal - to make this city a better place.  Hundreds of volunteers participated in a variety of projects throughout the community.

It was so special that it turned into an annual event called Hands on Wilmington. This April, volunteers will once again roll up their sleeves and get to work.  And you can be part of it.

People of all different skill levels are needed.  All it takes is a kind heart and the willingness to volunteer your time for a four-hour project on April 25th.

You can volunteer as an individual or a group.  For more information, click here or call 762-2611.

That's my turn.  Now it's your turn - to volunteer I hope.  To comment on this segment, or anything else, email me at
