The computer science department at the University of Virginia has a website where you can play the "Oracle of Kevin Bacon" game--the idea that Kevin Bacon can be linked to any other actor or actress in Hollywood--past or present--using the fewest links possible.
For example, Alfred Hitchcock was in 1976's "Family Plot" with William Devane, who was in 2000's "Hollow Man" with--Kevin Bacon. That gives Hitchcock a "Bacon Number" of 2.
The site also can calculate the "Arnie number", which calculates the links 'terminating' with Arnold Schwarzenegger or an "Elvis number" that shakes down to the King. You can also connect any two stars through movies, TV, or both, to see their degrees of separation as well.
