WILMINGTOIN, NC (WECT) - We knew George Elliott had many fans, but his decision to end his 14-year career at WECT has made it very clear how many.
Roger writes: "George was the best. He was great at predicting hurricanes and their eventual paths."
Jean wrote: "His neckties, his "peace sign," how deliriously excited he would get over hurricanes - everyone loves George."
We agree. And we wish George the very best as he moves into the next chapter of his life.
His last day here was New Year's Eve - a hectic day for many of us - and we know you may have missed our tribute to George during our 6pm newscast that day.
If you want to see the highlights - they're funny and poignant - just click the blue links to the right.
To our viewers: thank you for your expressions of kindness and affection for George. And to George - we wish you years of laughter and joy.
That's my turn and your turn. Now it's you turn. To comment on this segment, or anything else, email me at yourturn@wect.com.
