WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A Catholic High School could be coming to the Cape Fear region.

The Cape Fear Deanery will meet Thursday with the area's priests and diocesan school superintendent to discuss the needs for educational facilities in the Wilmington area.

St. Mark and St. Mary Catholic schools have enrollment rates of nearly 650 students, and are experiencing continuous growth.

Enrollment in North Carolina religious schools has increased 98% from 1988 and 2007.

Currently, there are no Catholic high schools in the eastern part of the state.
