WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A Wilmington man has made it his mission to put those little shampoos and lotions you see at hotels into needy hands.

Sales manager for the Mayfaire Hilton Garden Inn, Kip Damrow, knows giving customers what they need is the key to success.

Damrow is teaming up with 20 other hotels in the area to give those less fortunate hygiene products they need.

He spent the day going to several hotels involved in the project and picked up boxes filled with things like soap, shampoo, tooth paste, and tooth brushes.

Damrow will take the items to the Wilmington Salvation Army and Good Shepherd Center.

"This is just my chance to give back to the community," said Damrow.  "I'm fairly new to Wilmington, and I thought this is how I could get involved locally."

If you have any travel-sized hygiene products you would like to donate, Damrow said you can drop them off at the Hilton Garden Inn at Mayfaire or the Wilmington Courtyard by Marriott.

Damrow plans to deliver the products by the end of January.
