BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - People living in Leland can get help in an emergency more quickly now.
Monday, Jan. 5, officials with Leland Fire Rescue announced a partnership with the city and Brunswick County EMS.
According to officials, Leland now has paramedic units on the east and west sides of town, along with a unit in the center.
"It's a goal we had to show citizens we're providing the best able service we're able to give them," said John Grimes with Leland Fire Rescue. "It allows us to be more attractive to volunteers. We're a one stop shop we do just about everything."
Emergency workers in Leland said they spent about $50,000 on medications and equipment updating the paramedic units last year.
