WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Residents of a Wilmington neighborhood believe drug dealers have infiltrated their street.
Now, sheriff's deputies are announcing an arrest that indicates the residents were right.
About six months ago, deputies began investigating 31-year-old William Bradley Jones.
According to deputies, Jones is a local dealer and has been distributing marijuana out of his home on Plaza Street.
On New Year's Day, Jones sold $15,000 worth of marijuana to an undercover detective.
After four different seizures, detectives collected 20.5 pounds of marijuana worth nearly $80,000 on the street, over $50,000 in cash, and a hand gun.
"The significance is the type of indoor hydroponics marijuana that is four times more potent than what is normally located and seized," said Deputy C.G. Smith.
Jones faces a long list of charges including four counts of drug trafficking. More arrests are possible outside the county.
Jones has been released on bond.
