WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Seven people are safe after a corporate jet crashed Sunday morning at Wilmington's International Airport.
According to authorities, the jet carrying five passengers to New Jersey was landing at ILM just before 3:00 AM to clear customers when their landing gear failed to work.
Investigators said the jet skid into the runway and went into the grass.
The incident forced a runway at ILM to close Sunday morning. It has since been re-opened.
According to a spokesperson with the airport, the family involved has made it home safely.
