WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - There was a warm homecoming Tuesday afternoon for the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Diligence who got home just in time for Christmas.
The crews arrival in Wilmington was delayed because of a last minute rescue mission.
The Diligence came to the rescue of an adrift fishing vessel more than 100 miles of the coast of Charleston, which forced them to get in a day late.
Diana Blutental, a crew members wife explains, "You know, I"m so thankful that he's here, but I would be just as thankful if he weren't here to know that the vessel they were assisting is safe."
