Police officers from different offices are training to run, swim, and bike a combined total of 140 miles to raise money for a memorial that will honor fallen police officers.

These men are competing in the Beach 2 Battleship Ironman Triathlon in Wilmington and raising funds for the memorial wall project.  The men are trying to raise over 100-thousand dollars to fund the project.

Each officer will be competing in a different event, they have been training for months.

Running through the hot summer, cycling 20 miles a day before work, even lifting weights to stay in shape.

They believe its worth it to show appreciation to those who have risked their lives for the citizens of Wilmington.

With only two weeks left before the race, the pressure is on and the men are pulling harder, cycling longer, and running faster to raise money in order to remember those who have ran in their footsteps before.
