Southern Shrimp Creole

Sauce

  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • 1 sm. onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp. AP flour
  • 2 tbsp. tomato paste
  • 2 28oz. cans diced tomatoes
  • 3 tbsp. Cajun seasoning
  • Cholula and Worcestershire to taste
  • 2 tbsp. cane syrup

Saute onions and peppers in oil until soft.  Add the rest of the ingredients and let simmer for 20 minutes.

  • 2-3 lbs. peeled shrimp
  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • 2 tbsp. Cajun seasonings
  • white wine as needed

Suate the shrimp in the butter, seasonings, and the wine for 2 minutes.  Add the sauce and let simmer for 10 minutes and serve over rice.
