WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - I hate litter. I hate seeing it along the road and I hate the thought of taxpayer money being used to clean it up.
I get angry when I see someone deliberately toss trash out a car window. You have to wonder what kind of person thinks the whole world is their trash can?
Well I have a few names for these people - loser is one of them. And I can tell you I think Litterbug is way too kind.
In fact, that might be part of the problem. We've used such a cute little name to describe a disgusting act.
A person on our staff suggested a better name. How about Litter-PIGS? Litter-pigs has a creepy feel and it doesn't sound as cute. Will being called a pig rather than a bug make a difference? I don't know but it's worth a try. I just hope the real pigs don't feel insulted.
