WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Sometimes it takes a big incentive to make us change our habits. When it comes to our daily commute, you'd think gas prices would be enough.  And while we may have cut down a little, we still have to get to work.

Well maybe you'd be willing to change if the incentive was something more than just saving money.  How about the chance of winning something?

Let me tell you about the Commuter Challenge.  It's being put on by Cape Fear Breeze. Starting this week they are challenging people to find a different way to get to work.  Take a bus, carpool, walk, ride a bike, or telecommute if your boss will let you.  It's all good and it all counts.

There is a point system and when the competition is done there are nice prizes.   Cape Fear Breeze needs to be applauded for its creativity. But more than that, they need you to participate.  If you'd like to get involved, it's not too late. Just call 341-4665, or click here.

That's my turn.  Now it's your turn.  To comment on this segment or anything else, email me at
