Late Night on WECT

Good evening,

Earlier this week we told you three members of the same family were fired after the Brigade Boys and Girls Club adopted a nepotism policy.  Tonight, the board held a meeting to talk about the future of the club and to assure parents that the recent changes are in the best interest of the kids.  WECT's Claire Simms was live on our earlier newscasts and will have more details from the meeting tonight on WECT News at 11.

Tonight, Obama will make history as the first African American to officially accept his party's nomination for president.  Earlier today, crews in Denver were busy setting up for the final night of the Democratic Convention as they relocated to Invesco Field.  Some local supporters are having parties tonight to watch the historical event.  WECT's Max Winitz will be going to one of these parties to share their reactions with you later tonight.

A few weeks ago, Carolina in the Morning had a contest looking for the best grilling recipe.  They got hundreds of entries and managed to narrow it down to three recipes.  Tomorrow morning, Kim Ratcliff and Bob Townsend will announce those winners just before 6:00.  And of course, we'll have those winners posted on the contest page.

Be sure to log onto for any news you may have missed from WECT News at 5 and 6.

Have a wonderful night, it's almost Friday!
