My turn, your turn: Off-shore drilling

I am decisive.  I know where I stand on all the big issues like abortion, immigration, capital punishment, gay mirage, and even the heated Duke vs. Carolina rivalry.  I'm not going to share those with you.  That would be crazy.

But I am almost embarrassed to say there is this one issue that has me totally stumped.  I'm talking about off-shore drilling.  I've read a lot about it lately.  It's even become a big issue in the presidential election.  But as of yet, I really haven't been able to form an opinion.

There is a big part of me that's in favor of anything that will bring down gas prices. I'd like to think technology has advanced to a point where off-shore drilling can be accomplished without hurting the environment.

And then I go to the beach and stare at the beauty of the ocean and I start feeling like we really shouldn't be taking any chances with messing that up.  Can any short-term fix really be worth the risk of ruining the water and our beaches?

So there you have.  I just can't make up my mind on this one.  But I really want to hear from those of you who have.  Tell me what you think, and tell me what I should think. I'll share your thoughts both online and in a future Your Turn segment.

That's My Turn - with a whole lot of thought and no stated opinion.  Now it's your turn. To comment on this segment or anything else, email me, here.
