WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) -- More than 2,000 freshman are enrolled at the University of North Carolina Wilmington for the upcoming fall semester.

This weekend, many of those freshman will move into dorms at the university on Annual Move-in Day.

More than 1,500 people have volunteered to help students move into the dorms and answer questions.

This year, there 400 more freshman who have on-campus housing contracts than there are permanent bed spaces in the residence halls.

Because of the high numbers, students in Belk, Graham, and Hewlett Residence Halls and some University Suites will live three to a room, instead of two.

UNCW's Office of Campus Activities and UNCWelcome 2008 have coordinated events to help welcome the record number of new students and returning students.
