Big Switch Minute: Retirement Living coming to Wilmington

WILMINGTON -- Retirement Living TV, a cable channel, is bringing its digital TV show to Wilmington.

RLTV says the experts who will talk digital TV in Wilmington will include Mayor Bill Saffo, FCC Chairman Kevin Martin, and WECT General Manager Gary McNair.

The event is free and easy to attend.

It's Thursday, August 7 at the Warwick Center on the UNCW campus beginning at 11:00 in the morning.

The experts will answer questions and then everybody gets a free lunch.

The only catch is that Retirement Living asks that you RSVP ahead of time.  If you live in New Hanover or Brunswick Counties, they'll even help arrange transportation to UNCW.

To make reservations call 1-800-754-8464.

In addition to the lunch and Q&A session, you can see a demonstration on how to install your converter box.

The entire program is aimed to reassure Retirement Living's audience that this latest change in technology doesn't have to be intimidating.
