Columbus County Pups need places to call home

WHITEVILLE -- Members of the Columbus County Humane Society are asking for your help in finding permanent homes for dogs left behind by their military personnel owners who get deployed overseas.

Cocoa, a chocolate Labrador mix had a loving home, but now her owner has asked the Humane Society for help finding her a new one.

According to Humane Society officials, Cocoa's case is not rare. They say it is common for military personnel to be forced to leave their animals behind when they are sent abroad.

Cocoa is currently being cared for by foster parents.

If you would like to adopt Cocoa please email Pat Lambert at lambertpat54@yahoo.com or call her at (910) 317-1606.
