Wilmington members of Americans for Prosperity protest outside county commissioners meeting

WILMINGTON -- Monday morning, there was a protest in Wilmington against State Senator Julia Boseman.

About a dozen members of the group, Americans for Prosperity, protested outside the county commissioner's meeting.

Boseman, a Wilmington Democrat, has a troublesome personal financial situation.

A home she jointly owned with her former domestic partner is now in foreclosure.  A late tax bill related to that home has apparently been paid.

Last week, WECT reported that Boseman admitted to smoking marijuana while serving on the County Commissioners.

"Boseman needs to take care of what she legally owes," said Dallas Woodhouse, a member of Americans for Prosperity.

Boseman has said her personal financial situation has had no impact on her performance as a state senator.
