WILMINGTON -- Eating more vegetables could reduce your risk of developing type two diabetes.
New research shows women who eat about 5 cups of produce a day had a 28% lower risk of developing the disease than those who ate less than 1.5 cups a day.
Vegetables packed with antioxidants, fiber, and magnesium help reduce insulin resistance, which in turn, lowers the risk of diabetes.
To help get more diabetes-fighting foods into your diet, try putting some spinach in your omelet or carrots in your muffins.
