WILMINGTON -- Thousands of women donate their hair to Locks of Love each year, but it's not everyday that you see a man face the scissors for the cause.
Wednesday afternoon, Pat Murphy went to North Chase Salon in Wilmington to donate nearly ten inches of hair.
And this is the second time he has donated to the cause.
It took him 2.5 years to grow his hair long enough to donate it again.
He said donating his hair to children is a win-win situation.
"They don't know. They are afflicted by diseases they don't know too much about and they lose their hair. And I like long hair, so it's a two for one," said Murphy.
Murphy said he plans to grow his hair out again, so he can cut and donate it.
