ONSLOW COUNTY -- An autopsy report has revealed that Lance Corporal Maria Lauterbach likely died from blunt force trauma to the head.
The medical examiner had to use dental records to identify the charred body of pregnant Lauterbach.
The autopsy report states that Lauterbach had an incision on the left side of her neck that may have occurred after death.
The autopsy could not determine the gender or any injuries to her unborn child.
The marine's body was found in a grave in the backyard of Corporal Cesar Laurean, who is charged with murder.
Investigators believe he is hiding in Mexico.
Both Laurean and Lauterbach were stationed at Camp Lejeune.
