WILMINGTON -- A deadline has passed for Thomas Wright to file motions questioning the actions of the House Ethics Committee investigating him.
The deadline for the embattled Wilmington democrat to challenge the charges brought against him by other legislators was 5pm, Friday evening.
The House panel has charged Wright with eight counts of unethical conduct.
As part of his challenge, Wright has asked the ethics committee to suspend their investigation until his criminal case is concluded.
Wright will have a chance to defend himself before the committee on February 11.
