Corporal Cesar Laurean Is Indicted

ONSLOW COUNTY - An Onslow County jury has indicted Corporal Cesar Laurean on one count of murder.

Laurean is accused of brutally killing 20 year old Maria Lauterbach and her unborn child, December 14th.

A grand jury indicted Laurean Thursday morning on several charges including murder and credit card fraud, and more could follow.

The 21 year old fled from Jacksonville almost two weeks ago.

A man identified as the cousin of Missing Marine Corporal Cesar Laurean says the suspect visited relatives in Mexico last week.

Laurean's cousin, Juan Antonio Ramos Ramirez, said the suspect walked into Ramirez's liquor store early last week.  The two cousins talked about their families.

Laurean told his cousin he had to get back to some friends and that he may return to the liquor store, but never did.

Days later, Ramirez saw that Laurean is wanted for the death of 20 year old Lance Corporal Maria Lauterbach.

The comments from Ramirez were the first public confirmation the Marine had been in Mexico.

Mexican and U.S. officials are looking into the report, but don't have any more information.

Federal authorities are offering a $25,000 reward leading to his arrest.
