COLUMBUS CO. -- On Sunday, a car accident in Columbus County sent 14 people to the hospital and temporarily shut down Highway 74-76 .
State Highway Patrol said the driver of a sedan rear-ended a car and caused a messy chain reaction.
Troopers said the driver of the sedan didn't see a mini-van slowing down.
Traffic was temporarily stopped while all the passengers were taken to the hospital and the accident was cleared.
All 14 people sent to the hospital have been released.
