NEW HANOVER COUNTY -- New Hanover County prosecutors are still awaiting a decision on a DWI case they appealed.
A judge heard arguments in the appeal at the beginning of the month and said his decision would come in at least two weeks, but his work on motions in the Tyrone Delgado murder case could be delaying that decision.
The district attorney's office is hopeful that the judge will uphold the appeal, perhaps allowing additional cases to come back to court that were originally thrown out because of missing papework.
New drunk driving laws required magistrates to fill out a specific form while many in the county failed to include it for several months.
Several dozen cases were thrown out as a result.
