Charges Against Thomas Wright

WILMINGTON -- Below is an explanation of the six felonies that State Representative Thomas Wright is accused of.

Under count one, Wright is accused of defrauding a bank by arranging a phony $150,000 grant to the Community Health Foundation.

Counts two through four charge Wright was soliciting three contributions for that foundation but never turned over the money.

Count five is for getting a loan for the foundation, then withdrawing an identical amount for his own use.

Count six accuses Wright of failing to report $185,000 in campaign contributions with some of the money going toward personal purchases at stores such as Circuit City and Victoria's Secret.
