Consider This: Holiday Smiles

The holidays are approaching fast and there's only one week left in our Holiday Smiles Toy Drive.

This is our 8th year collecting toys for children in New Hanover, Pender, Brunswick, Bladen and Columbus counties, and again this year, we're partnering with our friends at Fox 26 and Cumulus Radio.

We have more than 60 locations serving as collection sites, including BB&T banks throughout southeastern North Carolina, businesses where you see one of these signs, or the WECT studio. If you'd like to donate a new, unwrapped toy, or if you want to participate in Weller's Wheels by donating a new bike to make a child's Christmas dream come true, go to wect.com to find a drop-off location close to you.

All of the toys collected will be given to the Salvation Army which already has a long list of families in need.

We're so grateful that every year our viewers demonstrate their generosity and spirit of giving during our Holiday Smiles Toy Drive. So please, when you're out doing your Christmas shopping, pick up an extra toy and drop it off at one of our collection sites.

Every toy collected will brighten the holidays for a child less fortunate than our own.

That's what we think, tell us what you think. (kd)
