WILMINGTON -- State Representative Thomas Wright made a rare public appearance at Monday's groundbreaking ceremony for the Wilmington Convention Center.
The Wilmington Democrat has kept a low profile since prosecutors began investigating allegations of ethical and financial wrongdoing.
Wake County District Attorney Colin Willoughby is handling the case and hasn't decided whether to file charges.
WECT attempted to ask Representative Wright about the convention center and the investigation, but he refused to comment.
