Fort Worth, Texas-AP -- American Airlines says it's recalling 208 laid-off pilots due to the gradual increase in air travel.
Traffic has picked up in the months since the September eleventh terrorist attacks. A spokeswoman for American says the pilots will begin training sessions on May first. In September, parent company A-M-R announced it would cut 20-thousand jobs at American, American Eagle and T-W-A, which has since been folded into American. In December, American recalled 800 reservations clerks and canceled plans to lay off another 200 pilots. %@AP Links GRAPHICSBANK 256011 (11/15/01)>> 2000x1500 AMERICAN AIRLINES logo, graphic element on white Copyright 2002 Associated Press.
