F-16 Emergency Landing at ILM

WILMINGTON -- On Tuesday morning, an F-16 fighter plane was forced to make an emergency landing at Wilmington International Airport.

The pilot who was 20 miles from the airport, called into the control tower around 10:15 a.m. to report engine trouble.

It took the pilot five minutes to make the landing.

Other air traffic preparing to land at ILM was told to stay in flight while the F-16 landed.

The pilot was fine and the emergency landing did not cause delays to other flights.
