McCain's Campaign

PAWLEYS ISLAND -- Republican White House hopeful John McCain is telling a Pawleys Island audience that his campaign has made mistakes.

McCain told the Pawleys Island Rotary Club that his position on immigration legislation has cost him politically.

But McCain says in the last three weeks that he has seen progress in his campaign.

McCain is fighting to get back in the fray with the other Republican front-runners. His campaign said on Thursday that he has raised $6 million in the past three months and has $3.6 million cash on hand.

It was McCain's third consecutive day of campaigning in South Carolina.

The state is scheduled to hold the first Southern Republican primary.
