BRUNSWICK COUNTY-- With extremely dry conditions, the burning ban is still in effect for North Carolina, and the Forest Service is still battling flames.
A fire in Brunswick County is still burning as of Saturday night. The Forest Service says the fire was smoldering under a debris pile, and high winds sparked the fire again.
If you are caught burning, you could be fined $220 and be forced to cover the cost of property damage.
Authorities stress the importance of complying with the burning ban.
