NORTH CAROLINA -- State Board of Elections officials are done waiting on Representative Thomas Wright's finance reports.
The elections office has sent a letter suspending Wright's re-election campaign because he failed to meet Tuesday's deadline for turning in a financial disclosure form that has been due since late July.
The message sent to Wright says that the board bars him from accepting campaign contributions, spending campaign money or any personal dollars to help his campaign.
The board began looking into Wright's finances from 2000 through 2006.
The democrat is accused of mixing campaign donations with personal money and failing to file accurate finance reports.
Failing to file a campaign finance report is a misdemeanor.
