WILMINGTON -- Local lawmakers are promising to look into the drug called salvia.
Salvia is sold as an incense but some people including teens are using it to get high. The drug has even been nicknamed the legal LSD.
The drug is illegal in five states, but not North Carolina.
State representatives Dewey Hill and Daniel McComas were unaware of the drug but they are now prepared to look into it.
Salvia was orginially used by ancient tribes in Mexico and South America as part of religious ceremonies.
