WILMINGTON -- Residents of The Pines Apartments weren't the only renters forced from their home this past weekend. Residents of the Keys Apartment complex also had to find another place to stay when that same storm caused a damaging fire at the complex.
Eight units were damaged by the blaze and most of those renters' lost their possessions.
Officials say many of them will have to pay to replace all that was lost.
Only one person had renters' insurance.
Insurance agents say renters can get a policy for roughly $150 a year and say it doesn't just help replace lost items, it also protects the renter.
