NORTH CAROLINA  -- Former State House Speaker Jim Black has five months to pay a million dollar fine on state political corruption charges.

A judge made the decision Tuesday afternoon.

Black has already been sentenced to five years in prison on federal corruption charges.

Judge Donald Stephens said the federal government took care of taking away Black's power and influence.

Stephens said the purpose of Black's sentence was to take away his money.
