RALEIGH-- Two area lawmakers have released a study questioning the availability of affordable housing in fast growing sections of the state.
State Senator RC Soles and Representative Bonner Stiller released the findings of a study prepared by UNC researchers.
It found that many public servants are having a harder time than ever to find a place to live in or near the communities they work in.
These groups of professions the study highlights are police officers, teachers, and firefighters.
Much of the study focused on Brunswick County averages, but finding affordable homes is a widespread issue.
