OAK ISLAND -- A group of pilots is meeting Tuesday night to decide if there will be a special dedication in honor of a couple who died on the way to an air show in Brunswick County.
John and Sheri Horn were killed Monday when their single engine plane crashed in Illinois. The two were headed to Oak Island for this week's American Avian Society Air Show.
The mood was subdued at the Brunswick County Airport after pilots learned of the tragedy. Fellow pilots say this would have been the couple's third convention, and it's a huge loss to the small community.
Pilots also say this is the first time a plane has crashed coming or going from this convention.
