Police Need Help Solving 2003 Murder

WILMINGTON -- Police are looking for leads that could help solve a four-year-old murder case.

Buren Borneman, 75, was found stabbed to death in his home on Camden Circle in January of 2003.

Borneman's red truck was stolen following the murder and soon turned up near the home of a man who was arrested for the crime. Charges were dropped against that man because of lack of evidence.

Wilmington police hope whoever committed the crime has talked to someone about it. They're asking that person to come forward.

"He was retired. He was a good man as I understand. He always helped people out, gave them money or food when they needed it. He didn't deserve to die like this," said Detective Mike Overton.

A reward is being offered in this case. If you have any information, call the Wilmington Police Department.
