WILMINGTON-Rain showers came to the Port City Saturday. This happened just in time for farmers and other local business owners to nourish their plants. Business owner, Monica Twigg said the recent drought had a devastating effect on her nursery. Twigg owns the 2nd largest nursery in New Hanover County, with all 16 acres needing water each day. The recent water bans, humid temperatures, and little to no water, caused many of her plants to wilt away. Monica said the rain will bring good news to many and she hopes customers will return to buy plants.
