LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Rev. Jerry Falwell has died, according to a Liberty University executive.
Falwell was taken to the hospital after being found unconscious today in his office at the school he founded in Virginia. He was 73 years old.
The university's executive vice president said Falwell had "a history of heart challenges," but it's not clear if that's what caused the collapse.
Falwell was a TV evangelist who founded the Moral Majority, then became the face of the religious right in the 1980s. He later founded the conservative Liberty University and served as its president.
