WILMINGTON -- Some D.C. Virgo Middle School students will make their big-screen debut Tuesday night.
More than 20 seventh and eighth graders were given cameras and told to find the meaning of a "real" girl. A documentary was then put together, which focuses on the real lives of Wilmington middle school girls, compared to images in magazines or television.
"Being a female is not about having a bad attitude or always looking preppy and stuff like that. It's about just being yourself," said student Tandrea Alston.
The documentary airs Tuesday at 6:30 at UNCW's Lumina Theater.
