Consider This: Ending Homelessness

Homelessness is serious problem in our area. A recent study shows there are 628 men and women living here without permanent shelter.

These organizations do a great job providing food, clothing, shelter, and employment services for the homeless, and they need your support, but they can only provide for the immediate needs.

Domestic Violence Shelter and Services

Good Shepherd Center

Gospel Rescue Mission

Jesus Ministries

Mercy House

Phoenix Employment Ministry

Salvation Army

We need a permanent solution to homelessness, so we applaud the City of Wilmington, New Hanover County, and the Tri-County Homeless Interagency Council for joining together to form a committee to develop a "10-Year Plan to End Chronic Homelessness".

The group is comprised of more than 50 business and community leaders and they're hosting three public forums on homelessness in our three-county area to assist them in developing a permanent solution. For more information about the committee or the forums, click here.

Your participation and feedback is a key ingredient necessary to create the plan to end homelessness in Southeastern North Carolina. That's what we think. Tell us what you think.
